Installing the AGP Video Card Take your AGP video card out of its static proof bag (Figure 19 shows an AGP video card). As with all expansion cards, touch your hands to a metal surface to draw off any static electricity that might be on your hands before handling the card. Its best to handle cards by the edges and corners. One side of the card is attached to a metal piece that will sit toward the back of your PCs case. Try to pick up the card using the metal piece only. Youll notice that the card has a funny notch toward its back (the end far away from the metal end). That is unique to the AGP card. It will match up with a small protrusion on one side of the AGP socket that is controlled by a slight plastic lever. Youll also notice that the AGP slot sits farther back than the PCI slots.
