Changing The I/O Shield Now that the case is opened, we can examine the I/O shield at the back of the case (Figure 55). This is a metal shield through which connectors attached to the mainboard protrude. The PS/2 mouse connection, PS/2 keyboard connection, serial port, parallel port, and other connections to the mainboard will be connected through the I/O shield.
