Chapter 2: Component Overview This book will teach you how to build your own PC. Building a PC is simple. If you can plug a power cord into a wall socket and you can turn a screwdriver, you have all the skills you need to build your own PC. If you can turn the screwdriver the right way half of the time, you can become a certified PC repair technician. Once youve built your first PC, building others will be easy for you. Plus, youll have all the skills and experience necessary to install any future upgrades you may wish to make to your system. For example, if you later decide to add a second hard drive to your computer or you decide to add a PCI Firewire card to capture and edit camcorder video, youll know what to do. Learning to build your own PC will give you maximum future flexibility in upgrading and repairing your PC. Plus, youll be able to brag to your friends and family about building your own computer. Theyll probably ask you to help them with their computer upgrades!
