This Will Get Your Back Up

The news is not all bad: unfortunately, some of it is worse. The same problems that cause Xcopy to malfunction in this way also affect popular software used to back up your PC. As anyone who has read this site for a while knows, I consider backups to be a critical part of responsible computing. I consider the implications of this short file name problem staggering. John Navas has verified that Seagate Backup Exec V2.0 does not have the problem.
