The size of the displayed image on the screen is too large or small

Explanation: The viewed image appears too small or too large.

Diagnosis: Virtually all monitors include adjustments for the horizontal and vertical size of the image; usually these need to be used to change the image size. The range of these controls varies by the monitor. There is also an impact on image size depending on the video drivers being used, and sometimes these can be adjusted.

Recommendation:

  • Use the image sizing controls on the monitor to adjust the size of the image.
  • Consult the configuration utility that came with your video driver to see if it has settings that can be changed to adjust the size and position of the image; many do.
  • Try changing the screen resolution. This will often move or resize the image into a range that your controls can better tweak to give you the size you are looking for.
  • If you cannot get the size to adjust properly, you may want to take the monitor to a repair shop for adjustment.
