Tips Of The Day For August 2001
Tip Of The Day For August 26, 2001:
Sometimes, it's the little things that can really get on your nerves. Sometimes,
certain programs, especially Windows Explorer and browsers, set themselves to a default
window size that is very small. You resize the window, but whenever you open a new one, it
is really tiny again. The solution to this annoyance is actually quite simple. Close all
the windows of whatever program is doing this. Open one window, and resize it as you like
it. Then, while holding down the <Ctrl> key, close the window. You should
be all set. Oh, and note that selecting "Maximize" for the window generally
won't work, you have to resize the borders manually. Incidentally, I don't believe that
this little tidbit is actually documented anywhere; at least, it's not in any place
obvious enough that I have ever been able to find it! I think I read about it
online somewhere...
