Old Site Updates - October 2000

October 18, 2000:

• Work Still Continues: Hey, I guess I should really stop trying to predict when I will get my work done, because I'm not very good at it. :^) In my defense, I will say that it's hard to predict how long it will take to adequately describe some topics. I like to learn from my mistakes, so I will just say that I am still working hard and I'll be done "soon". ;^)

October 4, 2000:

• Work Continues: I'm still working on the next update for the site, which I anticipate being done in about two or so weeks. Thanks for your patience everyone; I'm sure you know what is involved in writing and updating material consistent with the standards I strive for on this site.
• PayPal Payment Changes: The management team in charge of the PayPal payment service has decided to make changes that will significantly reduce its usefulness for Disk Edition orders. A formerly free service, they now plan to charge sellers for receiving funds. They have also started bothering subscribers for their bank account numbers before they will allow them to collect their sign-up bonuses. As a result of all of this, in a few days I will be changing my policy on accepting PayPal orders for Disk Edition payments. I will continue to accept PayPal, but the cash discount will no longer apply. I also have no choice but to curtail my formerly enthusiastic recommendation for the service.
