Bus Bridges
A "bridge" is a networking term that refers to a piece of hardware that connects two dissimilar networks and passes information from the computers on one network to those on the other, and vice-versa. In an analogous way, the chipset must employ bus bridges to connect together the different system bus types it controls. The most common of these is the PCI-ISA bridge, which is used to connect together devices on these two different buses.
