These are sometimes needed to slow down the processor after completing activity on the ISA bus, which runs much slower than the PCI bus. The default setting for this is usually 1 cycle. This can normally be increased to 5 or higher, or reduced to 0 (disabled). Normally you will want to keep this at its default setting.
