Viruses and Virus Protection
Never forget that scanning your hard disk for viruses on a regular basis, and scanning all new files you put on your PC for them as well, is critical to maintaining good "digital hygiene". A virus infection can lead to catastrophic data loss, and in some cases a virus can make your system appear to have a hard disk failure when it really does not. Being "virus-aware" and taking steps to prevent their spread on your system is part of an overall program of good system care.
