Modems

Modems are expansion cards, and therefore should be inspected and cleaned along with other expansion cards as part of the maintenance procedure for the motherboard and system devices. Otherwise, they don't really require any special care. It does make sense to ensure that the phone line connections to the modem are neatly organized to ensure that they don't become damaged or yank out of the system by accident.
