Determining Your PC Requirements

Having considered some of the general issues in requirements analysis, it's time to now look at some of the basic requirements for a PC. In this section we'll examine some of the fundamental decisions you need to make about your computing needs. These will help define the basic form your PC should take--if in fact you really need a PC at all!

The heart of this section includes a discussion of the basic requirements that define what your PC needs are. Following that I look at the important matters of desktops vs. notebooks, another key "decision point". Finally, the matter of software impact on hardware choices is addressed.
