Payment Methods

There are a variety of different ways that you can use to pay for your PC or component purchase. While most people today use credit cards for most purchases (which is wise, assuming you manage your credit cards wisely) there are situations where you may want to use a different type of payment. In particular, if you are careful about how you do it, some payment types can save you money.

In this section I take a look at about a dozen different ways that you can pay for your purchases. I've divided my discussion of different payment methods into two groups: immediate payment and delayed payment options. Each has advantages and disadvantages that you will want to consider, though there are some payment options that I rarely recommend.

Note: The discussion of credit cards is broken into two sections, because depending on how you use them, they represent either a near-immediate or a rather delayed way of paying.
